In the shadow of the castle can be found Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem – the United Kingdom’s oldest pub – it dates from the 12^th century.

The centre of the city is the Old Market Square was redeveloped in 2006 to house some of the most up market shopping in England. Most of the main shopping streets are found around this square including the Council House, which is home to the Exchange Arcade shopping centre.

Aside from shopping there are plenty of tourist attractions such as Wollaton Hall, which stood in for hall Wayne Manor in the 2012 Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises.

Befitting its’ major city status Nottingham’s dining and nightclub scene is also exceptional and amongst the Midland’s liveliest.

Many hotels, trendy bars and restaurants can be found in the Lace Market a central area of Nottingham and home to the lace industry and source of the city’s wealth in the 1800s.

Away from lifestyle, art and culture, Nottingham is also known for its world class sport and is home to Trent Bridge – one of the world’s most famous cricket grounds and the base of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club.

The location is ideal to explore the rest of Nottinghamshire such as historic old towns such as the market town of Newark to the East. Belvoir Castle is also just a few miles outwards.
